Discover the island by ‘Bömmels Bimmelbahn’

You can discover some of the excursion destinations on a sightseeing flight or on an island tour with our famous ‘Bömmels Bimmelbahn’. The Bimmelbahn starts with a visit to the Norderney Mill and then continues past popular places and historic buildings as well as Norderney's impressive dune landscapes. The journey then continues to Norderney's marina with its famous lighthouse and on to the island's cape. The journey ends at Norderney's water tower, built in 1929.

And while you take in the picturesque panorama of Norderney as a passenger on the Bimmelbahn, you will also learn interesting facts about the island's history.

Museums and exhibitions

There are many museums on Norderney, such as the Watt Welten natural history museum, the bathing museum, our local history museum or the seal station and whale museum as well as the lifeboat museum. Other sights to discover include Norderney's landmarks and monuments as well as the island's historic buildings. In addition to the lighthouse, these include the Kaiser Wilhelm monument, the wreck at the east end, the Kurtheater and the imperial post office, the Norderney windmill and the "Conversationshaus" on Norderney.
