Over 125 years of Hotel Friese, 125 years of hospitality and tradition. For over five generations, the Gramberg family has been active within the gastronomy and hotel business. Over the years we have undergone many changes and renovations that have made the Hotel Friese what it is today. A prestigious, well established and very popular hotel. Until 1965 our hotel was called “Hotel Phönix”.
Today we, Maria and Tjark Gramberg, run the Hotel Friese following in the footsteps of our parents Gertrud and Carl Gramberg.
The atmosphere in the hotel is unmistakably Frisian. This includes the fact that many regional products are used in our kitchen and also that the hotel operates a sustainable energy economy, which relies on green electricity and which also saves energy with a low-energy construction and heat recovery.

The 3-star Hotel Friese has 27 single and 21 double rooms with a cosy, quiet and familiar atmosphere. Our four-star house -up Anner Siet- directly opposite, consisting of a main house plus annex, has 15 comfort double rooms and 2 comfort single rooms. In addition, you can stay overnight in 8 comfortable suites, 2 of which are barrier-free. Our exclusive furniture in maritime style with many loving details creates a very individual and special atmosphere.
The foundations of our success are: Frisian roots - tradition and cosiness combined with modernity - and a sustainable increase of our corporate values.
Because people were and are important to us all this time: Our guests, who come and always love to return, our long-term and ever kind employees and a management, which looks ahead and recognises the requirements and needs of the future. We are a family business in two senses. We work and live at Hotel Friese at the same time. This enables us to respond to the wishes of our guests and also have an open ear for employee concerns.
