When you arrive the good times start
... whether by train or by car - at the latest when you are on the ferry your holidays will start.
By car to the island - Via the A3
From the A3 take the A2 towards Emden, continue on the A31 to the Leer junction towards Emden. In Emden, drive northwards/Norddeich via Georgsheil.
Your journey by car - Via the A7
Take the A7 to the Walsrode junction via Bremen, continue on the A1 and then take the A28 via Oldenburg to the Leer junction towards Emden. In Emden, drive northwards/Norddeich via Georgsheil.
When arriving at the pier of Norddeich you can park your car on one of the large parking lots or take it on the ferry.
There are plenty of parking possibilities where you can park your vehicle as a day guest or for a longer period of time. From the car parks you can walk to the ferry or use the buses of the shipping company. You can buy your ticket at the ferry terminal.
By train to Norderney
You book a train via Münster, Leer, Emden, to Norddeich-Mole or via Hannover, Bremen, Leer, Emden, to Norddeich-Mole.
Then take the ferry to Norderney.
The ferry to Norderney
Whether you arrive by train or by car. From the Norddeich Mole, the AG Reederei Norden-Frisia offers a ferry service all year round and takes you from the mainland to the island. You reach Norderney in about an hour, where you can experience the typical island flair up close and leave all the stress behind you.
Taxis and public buses are available at the port terminal when arriving in Norderney to take you to your desired location or directly to our Hotel Friese.
Tickets must be purchased at the ferry terminal in Norddeich Mole before embarking.
If you want to take your car with you, you can purchase your tickets directly from the comfort of your car. It is not possible to reserve a parking space for your car on the outward journey to Norderney, but you will need to reserve a parking space for the return journey. You have to indicate these online when buying your tickets or at the latest before the crossing at the service counter in Norddeich Mole.
Arriving on the island by car ...
If you arrive by car, drive from the pier to the large junction, then turn left into Hafenstraße and follow the street until you reach "Haus Schiffahrt" (long white building on the right). Turn left into Weststrandstraße and follow Brunnenstraße/Damenpfad almost to the end. Now turn right into Friedrichstraße and after 200m you get to Hotel Friese.
Arriving on the island without a car ...
Take the bus line 1, get off at the Milchbar and turn right into Friedrichstraße. After approx. 200m you will reach our hotel.
Or you can take a taxi. This will take you directly to our hotel.
Please note that there are only about 19 taxis on the island. This can lead to waiting times at the harbour. The taxis will operate until all the guests at the pier are taken to their respective destinations. It is not possible to hire a taxis due to the small number of taxis. Hotel transport buses are not allowed on the island.
